This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to develop, implement and evaluate a pest management plan in a meat processing establishment.

Pests may be vertebrate or invertebrate pests or both.

This unit applies to individuals who take responsibility for their own work and for the quality of the work of others within known parameters. They provide and communicate solutions to a range of predictable and sometimes unpredictable problems.

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Assessment Tasks

Copy and paste from the following data to produce each assessment task. Write these in plain English and spell out how, when and where the task is to be carried out, under what conditions, and what resources are needed. Include guidelines about how well the candidate has to perform a task for it to be judged satisfactory.

Record any corrective actions required, processes used, and outcomes achieved 
Compare data with objectives and performance criteria in the monitoring plan 
Compare costs with budget 
Isolate and examine indicators of good and poor performance 
Compile a report that includes discussion of data analysis results 
Make recommendations to modify or eliminate causes of poor performance or to enhance current performance 
Report outcomes and recommendations to management in the required format
